Two, Two, Two Posts in One.

 Let's Go Gamblin'.

You've got to know when to hold 'em

Know when to fold 'em

Know when to walk away

And know when to run

You never count your money

When you're sittin' at the table

There'll be time enough for countin'

When the dealin's done. ” - Kenny Rogers

Hurtin' Units vs. The Gamblers

Game # 14 – July 22th , 2025

Hurtin' Units lose

Team Record – 6-7-0

Coventry Park- For this game, I will make it short and sweet (I will probably do the same for the game against the Rebels game or just combine them in one post). I have been busy and distracted over the last week and have had a difficult time getting to these posts. And when I wait for more than a couple of days, what happens at Coventry, stays at Coventry. For this game, you could always go to the Gamblers page and read what they had to say about the game. I could go back to the T.O.T website and look at the box scores, but I'm tight on time today, and it will have to wait.

Rebel, Rebel Who Can I Turn To?

The Hurtin' Units vs. The Rusty Rebels.

Game # 15- July 23rd, 2025

Hurtin' Units win 26-18

Team Record 7-8-0

Coventry Park- I decided to post the 2 games from last week in the same post, just to save myself some time. I could probably miss a post or two on Facebook, but I always want to see a post on my blog page.

The Rebel game was the highest-scoring game of the Units season. The Units were the home team for this game. The umpire was Stef C., and the game was the only one on Coventry #1. The weather was good, sunny skies and the soft breeze. Peter was the pitcher for the Hurtin' Units on this night. Jimmer played first and caught.

In the top of the first inning, the Rebels came out strong and put up 7 runs to start the game. It looked like it may be a long night for the Units. At the bottom, the Units' first 2 batters got out; it was not looking good. The next 8 Units' batters would all get hits, and the Units, with 2 outs, would score 5 runs to keep the game close. Over the next 2 innings, the Units shut down the Rebels, not allowing a run. The Units would score 7 runs in the 2nd and 6 more runs in the 3rd inning. The score after 3 complete innings was 18-7 for the Units.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Rebels would add 2 runs to their score. The Units would tack on another 7 runs in the bottom of the inning. In the fifth inning, the Rebels would push back and score 5 runs to tighten the score. In the bottom of the fifth, the Units went down quickly, putting up a single run to make the score 26-14.

The sixth inning was called the open inning. The Rebels were down by 12 runs, their subs would on and both would score, the top of their order would also score 2 runs, but the Units hung tough and got the 3 outs. The Units would not bat in the bottom, making the final 26-18 for the Units.

The Hurtin' Units' next game is July 28th, vs. Dodge City at Keogh Park.
